Dear KHS Classmates and Friends,

It is with a heavy heart that I share with you news of the death of another of our classmates. Anne Marie Carter Martin died on Thursday, May 31, 2007 in Leesville. Her obit follows this note. Jimmy and Jane Coward Richard represented us at the funeral last Sunday. Jane said the flowers from our class were some of the prettiest she’s seen. Anne Marie’s family was most appreciative of our expression of sympathy and caring. Thank you, Jane and Jimmy for being there with them.

LEESVILLE — Services for Anne Marie Carter Martin, 61, will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Barr-Price Funeral Home Historic B-L Chapel and Cremation Service with the Rev. Michael Sherman officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Aplastic Anemia and MDS International Foundation Research, P.O. Box 613, Annapolis, MD 21404-0613.

Mrs. Martin died Thursday, May 31, 2007. Born in Georgetown, SC, on April 28, 1946, she was a daughter of Lorraine Boucher and the late Allen L. Carter. Anne graduated from Kingstree High School and was a 1967 graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina as a Nurse. She touched many lives, was a caring and attentive nurse and companion for all her patients.

Surviving are her husband, G. Steve Martin; daughter, Leslie McArver and husband, Ryan Nash of Columbia; son, Phillip McArver and wife, Erin of McCormick; her mother, Lorraine Carter of Myrtle Beach; sister, Shirley and husband, Don Payne of Charlottesville, VA; brother, Allen and wife, Karen Carter of Pickens; grandchildren, Gage and Madeline Bennett and Trenton McArver.

Sincerest appreciation also goes to Bette Cox who keeps our www.KHS64.blogspot.com updated with the latest news. If you have a change of address or other news to share, please let Bette or me know!!! I will be updating our class roster in the next few weeks and want any of your changes to be included. I need contact information for Jamie Tompkins; Linda Vinson Mitchum (both last addresses in Summerville, SC area)and for LaMyra McFadden Graham _____. Anyone know how to reach them?
